Charlotte, NC - Although newer in the national tournament scene, Gregory is known as one of the pioneers of bass fishing in kayaks. Before there were large national tournaments, he spent his early years designing his signature series kayaks for Jackson Kayak (including inventing the idea of an external frame hi/lo seat as seen on most fishing kayaks today) and running his own tournament trail (River Bassin'). In the past 5 years he's hosted his YouTube show titled "Hooked on Wild Waters." However, none of that is a reason to pick him in fantasy! All that matters is if he can fish! He's jumping into the tournament scene in a bigger way in 2020, so we'll find out soon enough.
In 2019 he fished 5 tournaments in, with his average finish being 8th place, including 2nd (out of 461) in the KBF National Championship, 8th in the KBF/FLW Cup, 2nd in the Pan American Games and a 3rd in his lone Hobie BOS event in 2019. In previous years he has fished the KBF National Championship, with additional finishes of 2nd in the inaugural Invitational (2014), 18th (of 326) in the 2017 Open & Championship, 5th (of 751) in the 2018 National Championship, to go along with his 2nd place in 2019. What will happen with more of a focus on tournaments this year? We're going to learn a lot about Gregory's full time tournament prowess in 2020.
