Hoshoryu was a bit of a disaster in his third Yokozuna basho, and it's worth wondering if a pattern might be developing. He did withdraw because of a toe injury, but only after giving up three straight kinboshi on Days Two through Four and looking bad. A Yokozuna is supposed to be the very best, and if Hoshoryu is rarely at 100% that could be a problem. (Of course, he also went 12-3 two basho ago, so a healthy Hoshoryu is dangerous
