Takanosho had a throwback basho to his Sanyaku days from a few years ago. He was in the yusho race until the final weekend, plus he beat the Ozeki and both Sekiwake. He hasn't become more well-rounded as a fighter, but clearly a Takanosho thrust is still a dangerous weapon.
